What kind of king rides into a city on a borrowed donkey… to die? On Palm Sunday, the crowd welcomed Jesus with loud Hosannas and grand expectations. But Jesus came to reign in a way no one expected. In this sermon, we open our Holy Week series, *The King Revealed,* by following Christ’s humble procession into Jerusalem. We’ll reflect on why He came, what He came to do, and what His reign means for us — especially when it doesn’t feel like He’s in control! Spoiler: the throne of glory isn’t where you’d think.
Takeaways:
Jesus doesn't save by force, but by grace.
"Hosanna" isn't just praise, it's a cry for help.
His reign beigns not with a crown of gold, but with a cross of thorns.
Christ still reigns today through His Word and Sacraments
Don't look for Jesus in spectacle. Look for Him where He's promised to be!
