St. Peter's is a member congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We teach from the Bible and confess that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
What gets preached here every Sunday:
- Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again, and that on the last day, He will raise you to eternal life.
- The exposure of our sinfulness and self-righteousness, shattering the false hope that we can ever save ourselves.

What You'll Find at St. Peter's
Worship: The historic Divine Service. Hymns from the Lutheran Service Book, Scripture readings, a sermon on the lectionary text for that Sunday, and the Lord's Supper. Every generation in the room together, children included.
Education: Sunday School for children and adult Bible study during the school year. Confirmation instruction for youth.
Fellowship: Coffee after the service, in a congregation where people know each other.

About Winthrop, Minnesota
Winthrop is a town of about 1,300 in Sibley County, on Highway 19 between Gaylord and Gibbon. It grew up as a railroad town, a division point on the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railway with a roundhouse and repair shops. Every April the town holds Grackle Days, named for the bird whose return means field work is about to start, and in July the Chamber puts on Farm City Fun Fest in City Park.
